This December, the Town Square of Slovenske Konjice will once again shine as the true festive heart of the town. Amid the glow of holiday lights, children’s laughter, and the warmth of shared moments, a magical atmosphere will unfold—inviting you to gather, explore, and rejoice in the small moments that make the season special.
The St. Francis Fair (2 December) will traditionally mark the beginning of the festive season. The true magic, however, will take place on 5 December at 4:30 PM, when we light the holiday decorations together and open the skating rink. We will gather around the beautifully adorned Christmas tree, next to which a photo corner will be set up—perfect for sending holiday greetings from Slovenske Konjice out into the world.
Between 4 and 7 December, local associations, schools, kindergartens, and other organisations will take part in decorating the town’s Christmas trees, which will brighten December strolls through the town centre and lend the city a warm, creative, homelike atmosphere.
Festive culinary treats and a pleasant ambience will be offered by four unified wooden stalls and two mobile kitchens, ensuring that the Town Square is filled with the aromas of homemade delights, sweet indulgences, and warm drinks.
Throughout December, Slovenske Konjice will host a vibrant programme of events, culminating in the Novoletnice—evening concerts at 7 PM that will bring even more sparkle to the season:

Novoletnice are the musical highlights of this magical December, forming just one part of a rich programme that will illuminate Slovenske Konjice in festive splendour all month long.
During the holiday season, traditions will blend with warmth: the lighting of candles by the Ribnica stream on Christmas Eve, rides on the Konjičan holiday train—running daily from 26 to 30 December between 5 PM and 8 PM—and the lively skating rink, open from 5 December to 1 January. Opening hours: on weekdays from 3 PM to 8 PM, and on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and school holidays from 10 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 8 PM.
