In 2025, the Municipality of Slovenske Konjice will commemorate three significant anniversaries:
• The 860th anniversary of Žička kartuzija Monastery,
• The 100th anniversary of the passing of the great humanitarian, healer, and spiritualist Adelma von Vay, and
• The 70th anniversary of the first book publication of the poem Huda Mravljica (Angry Ant).
Throughout the year, these milestones will be honored with numerous events, gatherings, and celebrations.
The three main highlights will be:
• A Cultural Academy on the occasion of the Slovenian Cultural Holiday, featuring the presentation of awards for achievements in the field of culture, dedicated to Adelma von Vay. The event will take place on Friday, February 7, at 7:00 PM.
• A ceremonial session of the Municipal Council, including the presentation of the municipality’s highest awards, on Monday, June 30, in the evening, at Žička kartuzija Monastery.
• The opening of an exhibition dedicated to Huda Mravljica (Angry Ant), the beloved character created by Konjice-born author Branko Rudolf, who was said to have once roamed the town square. The exhibition is planned as part of the Konjiške Dni festival in June.
